Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American journalist and critic that has received awards for her writing, is an activist blogger. Feminist Frequency is a site to educate about female roles in pop culture, is managed by Sarkeesian. She's committed to removing stereotypes about women and how they are depicted in pop culture. In addition, she seeks to educate people about the online abuse directed towards females and other minorities of society. Sarkeesian who has a Master's in Political and Social Thought in the field of social and political thought from York University, is also well-known as a sought-after public speech-maker. She has presented speeches at the TEDxWomen festival as well as United Nations Broadband Working Group for Gender. She was interested in the gender issue and feminist movements since an early age. In 2009, while she was a student at the university level, she launched the site Feminist Frequency. The determined lady had planned to launch a web series examining gender representation in video games. However, she found herself in the middle for an online harassment campaign. This attack didn't stop her, but instead strengthened her determination as feminist media critic. Sarkeesian has been awarded numerous awards for her numerous significant contributions to the world of feministism. Anita Sarkeesian, a media critic who has won a variety of awards and created Feminist Frequency a nonprofit educational company that examines the ways women are portrayed in popular culture narratives.
