Allison Janney

AllisonAllison Brooks Janney (born November 19, 1959)[2] is an American actress. Her roles on screen and on stage were a highlight of her career , which has spanned three decades. Janney has received various accolades like an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award and a Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards, in the midst of nominations for two Tony Awards. She was born in Boston and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Janney earned a grant to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art following she graduated from Kenyon College. Janney made her television debut in 1999 with the character C. J. Cregg in the role of C. J. Cregg on NBC's political drama The West Wing (2000-2006). In the course of her work, she won Four Primetime Emmy Awards for this performance. The year 2014 saw her win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actor in the Drama Series for her character Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex.
