
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942 - September 3 2019,), was an American actress. Her most famous work is for her work in the films Blue Denim (1959), The Poseidon Adventure (1872) as well as The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was raised in Manhattan by an Irish mother and New England father. Her first job was as a child model prior to becoming an actor. Her nomination for the Theatre World Award for "one of the most promising actors 1956-1957" for her performance in The Potting Shed. Lynley began her film career by appearing in the Disney film The Light in the Forest which was which was followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). In 1959, she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer-Female for the film The Light in the Forest. One year later she was once again nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Female in the movie Blue Denim.
