American actor and rapper Earl Simmons was born December 18 1970 and passed away April 9, 2021. He began his rap career in the early 1990s , and released the album debut It's Dark and Hell is Hot in 1998, which received both critical acclaim as well as commercial success. He sold over 251,000 copies in the first week of release. [5][6] DMX's best-selling album,... and Then there Was X, was released in 1999. This album included the hit single "Party Up (Up In Here). The 2003 singles "Where the Hood At?" and "X Going to Give It to Ya" were also commercially successful. It was primarily airing on the BET cable channel Never Die Alone. In 2003, he wrote an autobiography entitled E.A.R.L. The Autobiography of DMX. After a stint in prison and writing lyrics, he began to write his own lyrics and performing in the recreation center in town for children older than he was. While in prison for carjacking he spent the majority of his time writing lyrics. He also started rapping with K.Solo. He started selling mixtapes he produced and sold after his release from prison for carjacking. It helped him establish his fan base within New York. Percee P as well as DMX both performed freestyles for The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show in 1991. [15] DMX released the demo tape later in the year. It was very like Big Daddy Kane or Rakim however it was not his later material. He was a guest along with Jay-Z, Ja Rule, and Mic Geronimo, on the legendary underground song "Time to Build" on Mic Geronimo's debut album in 1995.DMX passed away on the 9th of April, 2021, following an induced heart attack by cocaine.
